Near the station on the east side of the railroad is a fine brick school house for primary and middle grade pupils, that has a corps of competent teachers, and on the west side of the railroad, about 3 minutes walk from the station, is the high school building. To meet the present day requirements an extensive supplementary building has recently been added to it at a cost of one hundred and eighty-five thousand dollars, which makes it a very imposing structure.
