Planting my Tomatoes
Check out the nice roots since I transferred the tomatoes to bigger pots earlier. This gives the plant a real healthy start. Set the plant in middle of hole, then fill around root ball with the Miracle Grow potting soil. Make a saucer, then sprinkle a little potting soil on top. Water the plants with a pail in the saucers. Get ready for some nice tomatoes! Remember they need water to grow. I water every night as long as its sunny the first week. After that start to let them go longer and the roots will grow deep. Check back to see how fast they grow.

Get some pepper plants
I have to go out today to get some pepper plants from my favorite local grower before the get bought out. I don't mention the name because I need this grower for myself and those who already know him. Selfish I know... But if you need the best plants and they only have so many you do what you have to.
Foggy Night
The fog is rolling in on the water last night. You can see the Tacony Bridge and the Riverton Yacht Club in the distance.
Progress?
I guess we better save this bush...put a tag on it. The new development (Cinnaminson Harbour)in Cinnaminson on the water front is transforming the landscape. I can only imagine what it will look like in a few short years when complete.

The Jersey Tomato
Make sure to check those pots frequently to keep the soil moist. By now your tomatoes should be looking pretty good after transplanting to bigger pots.

Rite of spring
Connection down
My Internet connection has been down for over 6 hours today. WOW, you never realize how much you start to depend on it to be there any time you need it.
Pictures of the Day
The sharp contrast in the beauty of nature can be seen in these photos. The first showing a peaceful creek side scene, and the other showing the ultimate ending of an old dieing turtle washed up on the riverbank with the unusually high tide recently..

The Jersey Tomato
I'm going to be talking about the "Jersey tomato" over the next few weeks, seeing how I believe we can grow the best tasting tomatoes around! My wife and I usually start out by buying good quality "six packs" of plants from a local grower. We then transplant them into bigger pots with some "Miracle Grow" potting soil. I know what your thinking, why not grow them from seed?, who has the time to do that? Not me. For more pictures you can head over to my website

Water in basements
As I watch my neighborhood pumping out their basements, I thank God I have no water in mine. My house sits up a little higher than most in my area. It must be because its older and they knew about the rising creek. Thank You Lord!

Lots of rain and a little Pain
Today was a good day not to have work. I had to go to the Dentist to get some work done. :( Not fond of Dentists although my new dentist is very nice and does good work.
The weatherman said we would get a lot of rain, and he was right. Thank God I live on high ground!

Riverton Yacht Club....photo taken on the banks of the Delaware River in Riverton. The Tacony Palmyra Bridge is in the left of the photo.
Spring Cuttings
Every year in early spring My wife & I do some cuttings on our Pussywillow bushes just as the catkins begin to appear. All you need to do is cut with some sharp shears and put in a vase filled with water. Keep in the house away from direct sunlight. A couple of weeks later you will be ready to plant outside or in pots to give away. I usually wait a few more weeks then cut back 1/3 of plant. Keep watered.

A little time for fishing
Well, I finally got a chance to wet the line today. Did a little creek fishing and caught a channel cat about 20". Not bad. It feels good to get out again. I'm sure all you fishermen & women know what I mean. I don't leave the ladies out because my wife goes with me on many occasion's. More to come later on this subject I'm sure.

Picture of the Day
It looks like these steps have been around for a while. Photo taken at the Willingboro Nature Preserve. AKA.... Olympia Lakes. Kind of reminds me of "The Planet of the Apes" movie.
Is it Spring yet?
Well the calendar says it is, but it looks like the weather won't give in just yet.
With Construction Comes Trash
As you can see from the photos, with new construction comes the trash generated from it. In the first photo looking North from the Pompeston Creek train bridge crossing toward Cinnaminson you can see the trash as it collects along the creek brush. The next 2 photos show a closer look. The last photo shows the view looking South along the tracks looking towards Riverton. Looking South across the road is a new CVS being built in Riverton, and the trash blows across the street and then along a fence between the Park and the RR tracks until it reaches the brush along the creek, or goes into the creek itself. Its a shame that Riverton is not policing the area.

Original Pretzel Bakery
The Original Mart Pretzel Bakery since 1965. Its now in a new location at Rt.130 north in Cinnaminson, next to Subway since they have torn down the old Pennsauken Mart. I just love these pretzels when hot & soft along with the hot mustard. Service is good and fast. And now you can buy the mustard to take home with you! Give it a try.
